Analysis of welded joints using Finite Element Method
Štěrba, Martin ; Kala, Jiří (referee) ; Hradil, Petr (advisor)
This diploma thesis is concerned with the numerical analysis of welded aluminim structures. In these structures, there are significant decreases in the mechanical properties at the area of the weld and in the heat affected zone as a result of welding. Within this thesis, simulations of quasi-statically loaded welded joints made from EN AW-6082 T6 alloy were performed to investigate the load capacity and ductility of these joints. Computations were performed using a programme system based on an explicit finite element method. To describe material anisotrophy, a nonlinear material model called the Weak texture model was chosen. Material properties of the weld and the heat affected zone were considered to be different from base material. The required material parameters were adopted from available literature, however, material tests and indetification procedure of these parameters were described. In comparison with the experimental data, the results of the numerical simulations showed a relatively good ability of models to capture load capacity of studied welded joints. Nevertheless, due to mesh sensitivity of models caused by localization of deformation, it was not possible to determine ductility of these joints.
Roof structure of terminal building
Matouš, Petr ; Bukovská, Pavla (referee) ; Röder, Václav (advisor)
The supporting structure of the roof of terminal building is designed as a combination of trusses glued laminated timber, purlins and columns of solid wood and steel poles supports and rods. Truss is mounted on steel columns and supported by steel lattice structures and wooden pillars.
Static Analysis of Steel Joints
Vojtek, Jiří ; Kytýr, Jiří (referee) ; Gratza, Roman (advisor)
Elaboration of design principles of steel joints. Creation of the finite element model in ANSYS program, the study of static behaviour near the bolt hole, deformation of the screw and the stress components of the welded joint. Comparison with the analytical formulas.
Steel Structure of a Shopping Centre
Pokorná, Martina ; Ing. Milan Šmak. Ph.D. (referee) ; Bajer, Miroslav (advisor)
The load-carrying steel structure of the shopping centre is proposed in two versions. The more advantageous version is elaborated in detail. The roof structure is designed using three-dimensional curved trusses with glass roofing and the structure rests on steel columns. The ground plan dimensions of the steel structure are 120 by 73 meters.
Steel Structure of the Technology Building
Paroulek, Adam ; Pilgr, Milan (referee) ; Brosch, Petr (advisor)
The diploma thesis deals with the design of a steel technological structure in the locality of Štětí. The struture is used for the paper production technology. The geometry of the structure was customized to technological requests. The statistic system was considered in two versions – joint connections and frame – joint connections. The frame – joint connections system was chosen for detail processing. The steel structure was calculated by Scia Engineer 19 software. The connections were calculated by Idea statica software. The thesis is processed according to valid standars of ČSN EN.

Tresová, Vendula ; Hála, Michal (referee) ; Kubíček, Jaroslav (advisor)
Properties of weld at the high-powered welding methods. Description of MIG/MAG welding, LaserHybrid, Time Twin Digital. Steel Characteristic IMEX 700/DILLIMAX 690. Evaluation of weld with methods Time Twin Digital. Results of drawing, bending examinations, examination of hardness test and structure of weld surface.
Defects and their causes in dyeing of anodized surfaces
Šulc, František ; Žák, Ladislav (referee) ; Kubíček, Jaroslav (advisor)
This thesis deals with the anodic oxidation of aluminum and its alloys. The work consists of two parts. The first one is focused on more detail description of anodic oxidation process itself and theoretical description of the technological process anodic oxidation. The second part is more practically oriented. It compares two different lines for anodizing, and examines factors that affect the final appearance of the surface layer during anodizing welded joints.
Experimental Vehicle for Education
Černík, Adam ; Blaťák, Ondřej (referee) ; Hejtmánek, Petr (advisor)
This master thesis deals with the structural design of an experimental vehicle for educational purposes. Electric motors and their characteristics are described in the introduction of the thesis. Furthermore, the key parameters of the vehicle that influence its dynamics are listed. Based on the specified conditions of the vehicle operation, the main dimension of the vehicle and its conceptual distribution of components were chosen. Subsequently, static and dynamic forces acting on said vehicle were calculated. These forces served as inputs to the FEM (Finite Element Method) strength analysis in Ansys. Last but not least, the results of maximum stresses and safety with respect to fatigue were evaluated. Then the ranges of variable parameters in which they can be set were listed. Finally, the estimated price of the experimental vehicle was calculated.
Comparative analysis of light holder lifetime assessment methods
Holeta, Aleš ; Pokorný, Jan (referee) ; Vosynek, Petr (advisor)
This thesis addresses the topic of determining the fatigue life of a thin-walled holder fender and flashlight under variable loads. The aim of the thesis is to make a search study on the fatigue life of welded parts with respect to the thin-walled design of structures. The main objective is to evaluate the suitability of using different methods of fatigue life assessment on the holder fender and flashlight. The calculated fatigue lifetimes are confronted with experimentally obtained fatigue life-times. The fatigue lifetimes are determined by methods evaluating welded joints based on structural stresses and notch stresses. Finite element analysis was performed in the open-source programs Salome and Code_Aster. The modelling of the holder fender and flashlight geometry was performed at several levels. Based on the results, the most efficient method for the design of welded parts is the structural stress linearization method (also called “master S-N curve method”), which achieves comparable results to the effective notch stress method (considered as a reference), but with a multiply lower time consumption.
